Grangegorman Campus Higher-Education Research Building & Place | Dublin, Ireland
The principle of the proposal is to provide a continuous quad façade and achieve the desired density by allowing for faculty buildings to be built up next to each other, creating direct links at different levels and a continuous loop around the Mid Quad encouraging an open, collaborative and enriching learning environment. Cuts, patios and mini courtyards allow for light and natural ventilation into the relatively deep plans. It is envisaged that the perimeter of the inner quad will become a new “fixed element” while the eventual design of individual faculties may shift as the specifics of each building develop.
